Hervey Bay Attractions

There is so much to do at Hervey Bay, Queensland that you will return home wanting more! From July to November, take a cruise on a catamaran or sailing boat to see the humpback whales. Hervey Bay is their resting ground on their trek south and it is here they teach their growing babies.

Take an eight minute helicopter ride to Fraser Island, the world's largest sand island. Hire a four wheel drive and explore this beautiful island from its pristine beaches to freshwater lakes. Enjoy fishing here or charter a boat from Hervey Bay for deep water fishing. You can even catch your fish directly from the beach or Urangan Pier.

Apart from the whale watching, enjoy a cruise to see the many turtles, dugongs and dolphins and snorkel from the boat at Pelican Bank sand cay. Other water attractions include sea kayaking or canoeing.

From the many camping grounds, backpackers, hotels and apartments, Hervey Bay offers more to do on land. Relax with your favourite sport: play a round of golf at one the three courses or roll a ball at the lawn bowls clubs. Play tennis or go for a horse ride along one of the many forest paths. For the more adventurous, enjoy a sky dive for a different view of the many Hervey Bay beaches and over to Fraser Island.

The kids will be thrilled with a visit to Vic Hislop's shark display or some time at Neptune's Reefworld. Hervey Bay, Queensland, offers attractions for the whole family to enjoy.
